Man sentenced on child sex trafficking charges

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- An Atlanta man accused of trafficking teenage girls in prostitution was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday.

According to Cobb County District Attorney Victor Reynolds, 32-year-old Khiry Price pleaded guilty to 16 counts, including three counts of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, one count of child molestation, one count of statutory rape, two counts of pimping a person under age 18, two counts of pimping a person under age 16, two counts of simple battery, three counts of interference with custody and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Price admitted to enticing three girls, aged 14, 15 and 16, to perform sex acts for men at a motel on Six Flags Drive in Austell in December 2013, Reynolds said.

Three suspects sought in armed Austell drug store robbery

Police in Cobb County are looking for three suspects involved in the robbery of a drug store in Austell early Thursday morning.

The incident happened at a CVS Pharmacy at 800 East-West Connector around 2:30 a.m.

Police said that while two men held the employees at gunpoint, a third removed cash drawers from registers.

The suspects, who each wore ski masks partially concealing their faces, then fled the store on foot heading north on Hicks Road.

Officials report no injuries as a result of the incident.

Police have released basic descriptions of each suspect - all described as black males wearing black hooded sweatshirts, ski masks and black gloves.

The first was between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing, blue jeans, black sneakers and black gloves.

In addition to the ski mask, he was also armed with a black handgun.

Arrest made in 2013 Powder Springs murder

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. -- Police say an arrest has been made in a 2013 murder in Powder Springs.

According to Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds, police arrested 27-year-old Joshua Maurice Gibson in the murder of 23-year-old Danielle Marshall.

Marshall was found dead in her home on Palmonino Drive on Jan. 14, 2013. Her daughter, who was also in the house, was not hurt.

The bravest souls of all will be invited to tackle the Superman Tower of Power, a 65-foot bouncing thrill ride.

Six Flags Over Georgia's current children's area will be remodeled into Bugs Bunny Boomtown, which will feature seven new attractions:

Cobb DUI driver arrested for killing pedestrian

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A 31-year-old man was arrested after hitting and killing a pedestrian in Cobb County Thursday night.

Joshua Lee Shank is being held in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on a DUI charge.

The accident happened shortly before midnight on Powder Springs Road near Pine Grove Road. Cobb County Police said the victim was walking in the right southbound lane when she was hit from behind by Shank's Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released, pending notification of her next of kin.

The accident is under investigation.

Arrests made in deaths of young couple in Powder Springs

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. (WXIA) -- Police have made a second arrest in the deaths of a Lithia Springs couple shot to death in front of their three year old daughter. 

Police arrested Demarco Thomas, 22, on multiple charges including violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and concealing the death of another after the shooting deaths of Anthony Joseph Costner, 24, and Catherine Amanda Costner, 22.

The two were found shot in a Pontiac Grand Am on Aug. 6 in the area of Parks and Sharon drives in Powder Springs, about six miles from their home in Lithia Springs. Anthony Costner was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene and Catherine was shot at least once and transported to a hospital where she died.
