ATLANTA -- Every year, the Kohl's Corporation make an effort to recognize young people who give their time and talent to help others.

The Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program rewards volunteers ages six to 18 who work hard to invest in the futures of their communities.

This year, the company plans to honor more than 2,100 kids nationwide on the store, regional and national levels.

Several Metro Atlanta Kohl's locations are participating, including:

* Hiram (5220 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, 30141)

* Holcomb Bridge (2342 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, 30076)

* Johns Creek (3620 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee, 30024)

* Merchants Walk (1289 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, 30068)

* Milton (13097 Highway 9 North, 30004)

* Roswell (620 West Crossville Road, 30075)

* Woodstock (120 Woodstock Square Avenue, 30189)

Two nominees from each Kohl's store will win a $50 Kohl's gift card.

Over 200 kids will advance to the regional level and win a $1,000 college scholarship, while 10 national winners will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Kohl's will also donate $1,000 to a non-profit organization on behalf of each national winner.

Past winners have been recognized for a variety of activities, such as starting a literacy project for homeless children, founding a business that donates net profits to cancer research, organizing a benefit concert for the visually impaired and much more.
