Maggie the Chihuahua: The next chapter

Maggie the Chihuahua: The next chapter

AUSTELL, Ga. -- Earlier this month, we brought you the story of Maggie the Chihuahua, who ran away from her owners' Austell home and was later spotted near Ridgeview Road, about a mile away.

Sadly, on Thursday, Apr. 7, Maggie was hit by a car in the same area. She was brought home to be buried in the backyard.

Ariel, the three-year-old girl with autism who loved Maggie more than anything in the world, is very upset that her best friend isn't coming back.

However, the next chapter of Ariel's story is bright.

According to Melissa, Ariel's mother, a new furry friend has arrived in Austell to be a companion to her daughter.

Melissa's niece in Florida just so happened to be looking for a new home for Chance, her six-year-old Beagle.
