'Relive the Passover Exodus' at Chabad Jewish Center

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Jewish community members of Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding are invited to participate in Chabad Jewish Center's community Seder on Monday, Apr. 18.

All Jewish residents, regardless of affiliation or background, are encouraged to join an evening that will include the reading of the Four Questions, traditional handmade Matzah, the Four Cups of wine or grape juice and a delicious Kosher meal.

Chabad Rabbi Zalman Charytan and his wife Nechami will facilitate the inter-generational program.

"This Seder is an opportune time to bring unity to the community and just get together to enjoy each others' company," said Rabbi Charytan. "It's the Seder that has kept families together for thousands of years."

The Apr. 18 Seder will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Chabad Jewish Center (1635 Old U.S. Highway 41, Kennesaw, 30152).

Plan your child's summer at Cobb County's camp expo

MARIETTA, GA -- It's not too early to start thinking about summer camp.

The Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department will host the Cobb Summer Camp Expo 2011 on Tuesday, Mar. 8.

The event will be at the Cobb Civic Center (548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, 30060) from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Cobb Summer Camp Expo is a one-stop shop for summer camp programs from all over the county. Representatives from day camps, art camps, church camps, overnight camps, performing arts camps, sports camps and much more will be on hand to help residents find the perfect fit for their children.

Admission to the expo is free.

Great American Cleanup, Cobb Clean Sweep Coming in March

COBB COUNTY, GA -- Cobb County residents and students have a chance to be part of the biggest beautification and litter prevention effort ever.

The Great American Cleanup, which begins Tuesday, Mar. 1, is an annual nationwide community improvement campaign started in 1999 by Keep America Beautiful.

In 2009, Great American Cleanup volunteers donated more than 5.2 million hours of their time to clean, beautify and improve 32,000 communities in all 50 states and beyond.

Cobb County will kick off its leg of the Great American Cleanup with Clean Sweep Cobb, a series of service projects to be performed across the county on Saturday, Mar. 5.

POWDER SPRINGS, GA -- One month after the Tucson massacre, the nation continues to be inspired by Representative Gabrielle Giffords' miraculously recovery.

But many citizens remain vexed about why the event occurred in the first place, which begs the question, "Why did [the 22-year-old alleged shooter] Jared Loughner slip through the cracks, and what could have been done to prevent this tragedy?"

ATLANTA -- The 119 Atlanta-area Chick-fil-A restaurants will host a special Daddy-Daughter Date Night on Saturday, Feb. 5.

Fathers and daughters will be encouraged to spend the evening together, enjoying time in the restaurant and participating in activities.

"One of Chick-fil-A's goals is to promote community connections and enrich the lives of everyone we come in contact with," said Robin Lomax, Chick-fil-A area marketing director.
