MARIETTA, Ga. -- Community Hospice, a division of Community Home Care and Hospice, has opened a new office in Marietta.

The office will serve patients across Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette and Gwinnett Counties.

Community Hospice of Marietta's mission is to provide the best possible care to patients facing life-threatening illnesses. Care will be delivered by a qualified team of doctors, professional nurses, social workers, clergy and volunteers.

"We are excited about expanding our service area to include the state of Georgia," said Sandy Roberson, president and CEO of Community Home Care and Hospice. "Our goal is to become the symbol for quality and caring health services for every person in the communities we serve."

Services offered include nurses trained in managing pain and symptoms available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; assistance with personal care and feeding; help in planning for end-of-life issues; grief and loss support; spiritual care; medication; and supplies and equipment related to condition.

"I am proud to be a part of such a caring hospice organization," said Dr. Radhika Mudiyala, a Smyrna-based internist and geriatrician who is now medical director of Marietta's Community Hospice. "I have proudly been a part of the Marietta community and look forward to helping families across the neighboring counties facing end-of-life needs."

Dr. Mudiyala has been practicing medicine in the Marietta area for eight years. She also specializes in primary and long term care.
