11Alive Meteorologist Chesley McNeil says widespread showers and heavy rains will continue to occur over the area, with rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches possible. Some areas may receive rainfall amounts in excess of 4 inches. Minor flooding may occur on smaller streams, creeks and in low-lying areas.

Big Creek, Nancy Creek, Suwanee Creek, Peachtree Creek and Nickajack Creek are areas that forecasters said should be monitored closely for possible flooding through the next couple of days.
