POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. -- A man is dead and a woman, a 9-month-old baby and a 4-year-old child severely injured after a Saturday evening accident in Cobb County.

According to a Cobb County Police Department spokesperson, the accident happened at about 7 p.m. when a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Corey W. Greene, 28, left the roadway while negotiating a right turn on Hiram Lithia Springs Road near Garrett Springs Drive.

Police aren't sure why the driver lost control of the vehicle but said that the collision flipped the vehicle and killed Greene - a Powder Springs resident.

Passengers Hillary Brinson, 23, of Powder Springs, and the 9-month-old baby were also injured and taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

The 4-year-old passenger was airlifted to Scottish Rite Hospital and treated for serious injures, police said.

Cobb County's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is continuing investigations into exactly what caused the accident.
