Dallas woman celebrates 'extreme' lottery win

DALLAS, Ga. -- A Dallas woman is celebrating an "extreme" Georgia Lottery win.

Charlotte Black, 61, won $1 million playing the instant game Extreme Green.

"It feels wonderful," said Black, a self-described housewife, mother and grandmother.

Grands (6435 Hiram Douglasville Highway, Powder Springs, 30127) sold the top prize ticket.

Black scratched the ticket in the store's parking lot, then went inside to confirm the news.

"It's a good thing the store wasn't crowded, because I was screaming," she said.

Black and her husband David, a Georgia Power control wireman, are still deciding how to use the winnings.

The cheerleaders competed in the Level 6 division at the Spirit Unlimited competition on Saturday, Mar. 12 at the Georgia State University Sports Arena.

Over 35 squads from around the state competed across all six levels.

The CTC cheerleaders put on a two-and-a-half minute routine in front of 1,500 spectators in one of the day's last performances.

"It was really high energy pretty much the whole time," said Audra Tillman, head coach of the Golden Eagles. "Of course, for us, it was our first competition, so we were just really, really excited. So when we went out on the court, I don't think I really remember anything.
